Police have issued an arrest warrant for another suspect in the assault-robbery of an off-duty Philadelphia officer. Arthur Jones, 38, who is considered armed and dangerous, is wanted for the incident that happened on Sunday, May 12 in which the officer was assaulted and disarmed, police previously said. Yusef "Duke" Coleman had previously been arrested in the West Oxford Street incident, police said, while one woman was wanted for questioning. One woman is in custody after police say she struck five people with her Nissan Sentra in Philadelphia on Monday afternoon, April 22. Authorities said 45-year-old Omobolanle Paige hit five pedestrians, three of whom were sent to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. It happened at the parking lot of the 6301 Oxford Avenue ShopRite, according to police. North Philadelphia Fires Kill Woman, Injures Firefighter
One woman is dead and a Philadelphia firefighter is hurt after a pair of fires on Tuesday, Dec. 19, and early Wednesday, Dec. 20, officials told Daily Voice. The first blaze broke out around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday on the 800 block of West Tioga Street in Franklinville, a Fire Department spokesperson said. First responders arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the second floor of a two-story rowhome, but firefighters brought the flames under control within about 15 minutes, according to PFD. Serial Philadelphia Bank Robber Gets 9 Years Behind Bars
A Philadelphia bank robber is facing nine years behind bars for a nearly six-month-long crime spree during which he robbed eight banks and businesses, authorities said. Gerald Griffith, also known as “Jerry Porecca,” 47, pleaded guilty in December 2019 to two counts of bank robbery, two counts of armed bank robbery, and four counts of Hobbs Act robbery, Acting United States Attorney Jennifer Arbittier Williams said.
