Newlywed couples in Northeast and mid-Atlantic states expect some of the most generous wedding gifts in the country, a new study said. Couples in New York expect the most expensive gifts in the U.S. at an average of $204.60 per guest, according to the study by fine jewelry brand Shane Co. The USGS is reporting 23 aftershocks in the 23 hours since the New Jersey earthquake that rattled the Northeast. The initial earthquake had a magnitude of 4.8 and was reported in Whitehouse Station at 10:23 a.m. Friday, April 5. Tremors were felt by more than four million people from Maryland to New Hampshire. TGI Fridays is closing nearly 30 "underperforming" locations across the northeast and will sell eight restaurants to the chain's former CEO, the chain said in a news release. After serving an 11-month prison sentence for sexually assaulting a pair of Pennsylvania students will be serving more time in prison for sexually abusing one of his former campers when he was a counselor, the victim's attorney said.
