Cybersecurity Issue Hits Giant Company, Food Lion, Other Supermarkets, Parent Company Says
A cybersecurity “issue” has led the parent company of a supermarket chain to disconnect some systems to protect them.
Ahold Delhaize USA said it recently detected a cybersecurity issue within its US network.
"Immediately upon detecting the issue, our security teams began an investigation with the assistance of external cybersecurity experts," the company said. "We also notified law enforcement."
The move affects:
Stop & Shop, which has around 400 locations in New England, New York, and New Jersey;

The mastermind of a mass-mailing scam that stole $175 million from more than a million victims, most of them elderly or ailing, was convicted by a federal jury in New York City.
Patrice Runner, a 57-year-old Canadian and French citizen, directed a ruthless psychic mail scheme for over two decades, beginning in 1994, the jurors found.

Cause Of Death Revealed For Grant Wahl
After his brother backtracked suspicions of foul play in his death, Grant Wahl's wife announced the true cause on Wednesday, Dec. 14.
Wahl, the Princeton University grad who died in his seat while covering the World Cup in Qatar, suffered an aortic aneurysm, his wife, Celine Grounder, said on “CBS Mornings."
“It’s just one of those things that had been likely brewing for years,” she said.
Wahl was covering the Argentina quarterfinal win over the Netherlands when he collapsed, falling back in his seat on Friday, Dec. 9, US reporters said. He was rushed to a local hospital, and died.
