A Berks County woman who owns shared-care homes is accused of defrauding Medicaid of over $1 million and neglecting vulnerable residents under her care, Attorney General Michelle Henry announced on Wednesday, Jan. 16.
Tina Bell, 56, Wernesville, the owner and manager of Superior Health, Inc., an Erie County-based home care agency, has been charged with theft by deception, receiving stolen property, Medicaid fraud, tampering with public records, and neglect of a care-dependent person, according to Henry.

The 71-year-old woman's body was emaciated and covered in untreated bedsores when it was found in a Chester county home, Attorney General Michelle Henry said.

A West Philadelphia doctor is facing involuntary manslaughter charges after he prescribed his patient a combination of opioids that resulted in an accidental overdose of cocaine, oxycodone, and morphine, authorities announced Wednesday.
An investigation showed that Dr. Walter Wrenn, 80, fabricated the patient’s diagnosis in order for Keystone First to approve filling the prescribed medications, Attorney General Josh Shapiro said.
The patient’s opioid prescriptions far exceeded the recommended 90 milligrams per day, Shapiro said.
