Lehigh Township Shelter In Place Ordered A standoff in Walnutport ended in an arrest on Wednesday morning, April 24, according to Lehigh Township police.  Adam Banotai, 41, is being held in lieu of a $30,000 bail, authorities said. Police said they were approached by a 32-year-old woman late on Tuesday night about a domestic assault.  "The victim advised police that her husband had made threats of suicide and texted the victim a message with a photograph of him with a handgun in his hand and threatened to shoot police if they came to the house," LTPD said in a release.  Officers set up a perimeter around the home …

Woman, 80, Dies In Lehigh Valley Crash An 80-year-old woman died at the hospital following a Wednesday afternoon crash in the Lehigh Valley area, authorities said. Brenda Kohler of Northampton was driving on the 500 block of Cherryville Road in Lehigh Township when she was struck by another vehicle just after 4:30 p.m., according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office. Kohler was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg and pronounced dead around 5:25 p.m., authorities said.
