9-County Retail Theft Ring Busted: PA Attorney General
Five people involved in a major organized retail theft operation have been charged with targeting stores across nine counties, authorities said. Marlin Polanco, Malik McDonald, Cartier Hardy, Homario Oldacre, and Lorenzo Walters were charged in Dauphin County with corrupt organizations, organized retail theft, and related crimes, Pennsylvania Attorney General Michelle Henry said on Monday, Aug. 26. A 46-year-old inmate escaped from the Cumberland County Prison during work release, the sheriff's office announced on Monday, Aug. 19. Recent HS Grad Suffers Burns On 85%Of Body, Lehigh County Community Rallies
An 18-year-old graduate of Emmaus High School has died as a result of burns from a bonfire, authorities said. Julian Díaz died on Sunday, Aug. 18 at 4 a.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, after suffering bruns on 84 percent of his body, according to the Lehigh County Coroner. Authorities have released additional details in the Interstate 78 crash that shut down a large stretch of the highway on Monday, July 1. The multi-vehicle wreck happened near mile marker 31 in Hamburg, state police said in a release.
