Jennifer Friedel-Hoffman, a 60-year-old Pennsylvania resident, was killed in a crash on Route 78 in New Jersey on Wednesday, May 29. A tractor-trailer was parked and unoccupied on the right shoulder on Route 78 West in Lebanon when a Subaru driven by Friedel-Hoffman entered the area and struck the left rear of the truck just after 9 a.m., New Jersey State Police said. A Kutztown University student is charged with aggravated assault and ethnic intimidation after police say he nearly hit a pedestrian with his car and shouted racial slurs in a Walmart parking lot. A Reading Hospital nurse was killed and three additional victims were wounded in a multi-vehicle accident in Berks County early on Monday, Jan. 16, according to a report by WFMZ. The four-car collision occurred on the 3600 block of Pricetown Road at about 6:30 a.m., the outlet wrote. Pennsylvania State Police have charged a man with the murder of an 18-year-old near Kutztown University campus, officials say. Xzavier Wayman, 22, of Philadelphia, was arrested Monday, Dec. 5, and charged with first- and third-degree murder for the fatal shooting of Diego Velazquez, state police said. 18-Year-Old Shot Dead At Reading Student Housing Complex
An 18-year-old man was shot and killed in Reading, authorities said. Diego Velazquez was shot around 12:50 a.m. at the Blady Road-Advantage Point off-campus student-housing development in Maxatawny Township, the Lehigh County Coroner's Office said. Velazquez's death, which occurred near Kutztown University, was ruled a homicide with an autopsy scheduled for Monday, Nov. 14. In addition to the coroner's office, this death is being investigated by the Pennsylvania State Police, Reading Station and the Berks County District Attorney's Office.
