A former Pennsylvania State Police trooper was sentenced to 42 to 88 years in prison for sexually abusing a child, authorities said.
Darren Lawrence, 62, of Wilmington, DE, was convicted in Sept. 2021 of 19 counts of abuse, including rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, and related offenses, Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan said.

UPDATE: Authorities have released new information about a harrowing double murder-suicide that occurred this week in Chester County.
Kimberly Harris, 53, and her son, Jordan Foster, 22, were identified as the two victims who were found fatally shot at a home in the 300 block of Ashmun Avenue in Lower Oxford Township on Wednesday, according to Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Kevin Kochka.
The murder suspect, Timothy Harris, 40, is also dead after fleeing the crime scene and turning the gun on himself after crashing his car twice, Kochka said.

Kennett Township's former manager is facing time behind bars for stealing more than $3 million in taxpayer funds and spending it on personal expenses, authorities said.
Lisa Moore, 48, of Dewey Beach, DE, was sentenced to three to 10 years in prison on charges of theft by deception, dealing in unlawful proceeds, forgery, tampering with public records, and related offenses.
She embezzled a total of $3,249,453 from the township between 2013 and 2019, according to the Chester County District Attorney's Office.

DA: ChesCo Man Found Guilty Of Assault In Domestic Violence Incident Against Wife
A 41-year-old Chester County man was found guilty of simple assault for physically assaulting his 35-year-old wife last year, authorities said.
Officers responding to a domestic disturbance on Pierce Lane in Kennett Township on April 24, 2020, found the woman, who said her husband, Brian Thuer, "strangled her, then pushed her to the ground during an argument," according to the Chester County District Attorney's Office.
The woman suffered a broken back as a result of the attack, authorities said.
