The lives of two Maryland men were cut short in a crash on I-81 last week in Pennsylvania, and now, their loved ones are rallying to give them proper burials. Diamonte Drequan Disney, 25, and Tiheen "Tizzy" Justice Nathaniel Matthews, 20, both of Hagerstown, MD, both died in the crash Wednesday, Aug. 21 in Antrim Township, as previously reported by Daily Voice. A former police corporal has died, the Darby Borough Police announced on Monday, July 29. Retired Darby Borough K9 Police Officer Thomas "Tom" Takacs Sr., 53, of Upper Chichester (formerly of Norwood and Tinicum) passed Friday, July 26, 2024, at home, according to his obituary posted by the Marvil Funeral Home. A 19-year-old from Berks County set a new state record when he caught a 2-pound, 1-ounce white perch in the Delaware River. The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission said Christopher Barrett's catch topped the previous state record for white perch, set in 2008. Anthony Tartaglia, of Franklinville, died peacefully on Friday, March 15, with his family by his side, according to an obituary published by Farnelli Funeral Home. He was 48 years old. Zach Piller, 23, of Bensalem, took his phone out to capture his dad Doug's catch while fishing off coast of Belmar on Wednesday, Oct. 12. Pennsylvania State Police seek the public's help in finding a fugitive -- an avid fisherman suspected of killing his wife. A warrant was secured on Tuesday for the arrest of Richard Walski, 46 of Luzerne County for the murder of his wife, Patricia.
