Easton Native, ‘Loving Free-Spirit’ Jessica Lipyanic Dies At Age 25
Easton native Jessica Autumn Lipyanic, described as a “loving free-spirit,” died at St. Luke’s Hospital on Sept. 21 at the age of 25.
Born in Easton, Lipyanic worked at Tic Toc Family Restaurant and lived in Alpha, her Facebook page says.
Lipyanic loved music, animals and being outdoors, her obituary says.
“She enjoyed being outdoors, a loving free-spirit who will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her,” reads her memorial.

The Easton community is coming together to support a local snack shop owner whose husband died after a courageous battle with cancer.
Antoine Bassil, who owned The Carmelcorn Shop in Centre Square with his wife of 34 years, Sia, died Sept. 24 at St. Luke’s Hospital at the age of 62, his obituary says.
Opened in 1931, the shop sells homemade caramel corn, popcorn, roasted nuts, fudge, and chocolates, establishing it as an “Easton institution” that was taken over by the Bassils in 1996.

Beloved Easton football coach and father of four sons Carlos Roberto Velez Jr. died Sept. 11 at his home at the age of 42.
Born in Philadelphia, Velez worked as a contractor for several years and specialized in electrical, roofing and HVAC, his obituary says.
Velez was a coach for the Wilson Midget Football Association and a Sgt. at Arms of the Templar Knights Motorcycle Club’s Bushkill Chapter.
