An Upper Perk police officer involved in a fatal East Greenville shooting was justified in using lethal force, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office. The investigation into the officer's actions during the Saturday, Sept. 14 incident involving the shooting of Gabriel Diaz revealed that the use of deadly force was warranted, the district attorney's office said in a news release. The identity of a 55-year-old father of five shot by police in East Greenville has been released by the Montgomery County coroner. Gabriel Diaz died of multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and shoulder in the shooting on Saturday night, Sept, 14, Coroner Dr. Janine Darby told Daily Voice on Tuesday, Sept. 17. A man barricaded in a basement with a hatchet and a machete following a fight with a teenager has been shot dead, the Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele announced on Sunday, Sept. 15. Crews Battle Early Morning Barn Fire In Berks County
A barn in Bally Borough caught fire around 2 a.m. Monday, July 15, according to the Eastern Berks Fire Department. The fire at the barn, located off South 7th Street, reached two alarms, authorities said. The barn contained hay and equipment but all the dairy cows on the property were in another structure and were not harmed, the department said. Eastern Berks Fire Dept. Bucks County Police Seek Woman Who They Say Struck Parked Car, Pedestrian
Police in Bucks County are seeking the whereabouts of a 49-year-old woman who they say struck a parked car and injured a pedestrian last year, authorities said. Police have an active felony arrest warrant for Rebecca Erin Carper, formerly of Milford Township and East Greenville relating to the Aug. 16, 2020 incident, according to the Perkasie Borough Police Department.
