Cleanup Efforts Begin After Oil Spill Into Bucks County Stream: Officials
Cleanup efforts are underway after motor oil spilled into Mill Creek in lower Bucks County on Sunday, Dec. 10, according to authorities. Police, firefighters, and hazardous materials crews responded to the scene where the "unintentional release of motor oil" had polluted the small stream in Penndel Borough and parts of Middletown, officials said in a release. Wildfire smoke from north of the border is again affecting air quality levels in Philadelphia, according to the state Department of Environmental Protection. Homes Evacuated, Driver Hurt As Tanker Truck Carrying 6K Gallons Of Fuel Overturns In Bethlehem
Several Bethlehem homes were evacuated and a tanker truck driver was hospitalized after around 6,000 gallons of fuel spilled from the vehicle before dawn Thursday. The truck — which was carrying about 6,000 gallons combined of gasoline and diesel fuel — was heading eastbound on Union Boulevard when it overturned at the intersection with Paul Avenue just before 2:10 a.m., Bethlehem Police said. 13 NJ Beaches Under Swimming Advisory Due To Fecal Bacteria
Swimming advisories were issued to 13 of New Jersey's beaches due to high levels of fecal bacteria. DEP Investigating Bad-Tasting Water In Chester, Montgomery Counties
The Department of Environmental Protection is investigating complaints of bad-tasting water in Chester and Montgomery counties. Last week, residents in Pottstown, West Pottsgrove, Lower Pottsgrove, and Spring City began complaining about the taste of the water, WFMZ reports citing the DEP.
