'You're Going To Be A Dad!' Allentown Trench Collapse Victim Learns In Final Moments Of Rescue
"You're going to be a dad!" Those were the words that the construction worker heard as he was being pulled out of the Allentown trench he'd been trapped inside for hours. The unnamed victim became trapped Wednesday, Jan. 11, while digging in the backyard of a home at 15th and Gordon streets when the trench caved in around 2 p.m., officials said. It took hours to get him out, but as they did around 10:15 p.m., his wife delivered the happy news, that she was pregnant with their first child, city officials said.

Pennsylvania Construction Worker Dies When Machinery Falls Into Icy NJ Waters For One Hour
A construction worker from Pennsylvania died when the machine he was operating fell into frigid Linden waters, trapping him inside for nearly an hour Thursday morning, according to officials and news reports. Fire and police units responded to a construction site at 4900 Tremley Point Road, where the excavator had fallen into the Arthur Kill River Channel -- the operator inside a small pocket of air around 8 a.m., Linden police said in a release. Man, 25, Dies In Montgomery County Trench Collapse
A 25-year-old man died when a retaining wall collapsed on him while digging a trench Saturday afternoon in Montgomery County, authorities said. The man, who may have been a construction worker, was working at a home on Wrack Road in the Jenkintown section of Abington, when the wall fell on him around 3:45 p.m., Abington Police Lt. Ed Quinn told Daily Voice. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his identity was being withheld pending next of kin notification.
