A Pennsylvania state trooper shot a woman following a standoff in Middle Paxton Township on Thursday, Dec. 26, Dauphin County District Attorney Fran Chardo said. The standoff occurred in the 400 block of Fried Drive and escalated when the woman, identified as Samantha Leigh Atherholt, fired multiple shots, Chardo explained on Friday, Dec. 27. A mugshot has been released of a convicted murderer under arrest after two people were found dead in South Central Pennsylvania on Wednesday morning, Oct. 9, authorities say. A Hatfield man was hospitalized Wednesday night, Nov. 28, after he was struck by gunfire in his own home, according to police investigators. It happened on Forest Hills Drive just after 8 p.m., township police said.
