Jackknifed Trailer Closed I-95 For Several Hours In Philadelphia
Interstate 95 has reopened in Philadelphia following a tractor trailer crash early Thursday, Aug. 8. The trailer jackknifed in the 6:30 a.m. crash in between exits for Vine Street Expressway and Columbus Boulevard. 6abc says HazMat teams were called to the scene for a fuel spill. As of 10 a.m., the highway had reopened but residual delays were expected. I-95 SB is now open. Traffic has begun moving but expect residual delays. Detour Ahead: I-95 North In Center City To Close For Roadwork, PennDOT Says
A portion of Interstate 95 in Center City Philadelphia will shut down next weekend for roadwork, PennDOT has announced. The northbound lanes from Exit 20 (Columbus Boulevard) to Exit 22 (Interstate 676) will be closed and detoured from Saturday evening, Feb. 3 to Monday morning, Feb. 5, officials said. The Philadelphia woman who was killed by road debris on Interstate 95 on Monday, June 12 was the loving wife of a city policeman and a mother of two, loved ones say. Cara Mia Panichelli died after "metal debris" crashed through her windshield around 4:40 p.m. near the Columbus Boulevard exit, Daily Voice reported. A man wanted in a road rage shooting on I-95 turned himself in to Pennsylvania State Police in Media on Wednesday, authorities said. Zion I.
