'Active Attacker' With Knife Leads To Shelter-In-Place Order At University Of Virginia The University of Virginia faced its second lockdown this week after reports of a knife-wielding attacker near campus, officials said. On Thursday, Feb. 27, UVA Police issued an emergency alert about an active attacker with a knife near 100 Emmet St. S., across from Alumni Hall.  The suspect was initially described as a white man wearing a red hoodie and blue sweatpants. Later updates described him wearing a white T-shirt, blue sweatpants, and white shoes. The alert, posted at 5:03 p.m., advised students and staff to shelter in place, marking the second such incident this week.  …

Temple University police are investigating an apparent shootout between two groups on Campus Wednesday evening, Nov. 8, according to security officials. University police said "two groups of juveniles" near Broad Street and Cecil B.
