Patrol Car Strikes 5-Year-Old Girl, Philadelphia Police Say
A child was hospitalized after being struck by a police car in Southwest Philadelphia on Tuesday night, June 4, authorities say. A patrol officer hit a 5-year-old girl on the 1600 block of South Ithan Street just before 7:30 p.m., PPD said. She was taken to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and is reportedly in stable condition. No one else was injured and the crash is under investigation, police said.

A 24-year-old man died at the scene of a crash in Central Pennsylvania, State Police announced on Monday, April 8. Mason Allen Kelley originally of Chambersburg most recently of Carlisle, was heading west on East Old York Road near Lerew Road in Carlisle when he left his lane for an unknown reason at 12:21 a.m. on April 6, the state police detailed in the release. Driver, 33, Dies Week After PA Crash
A 33-year-old man died one week after a crash in Northampton County, officials said. Wayne Manigo, of Stroudsburg, veered off West Moorestown Road at Seifert Road in Bushkill Township and struck a guide rail and several trees around 2:20 a.m. Friday, March 22, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio said. He was pronounced dead on Friday, March 29, at 11:15 AM at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. The cause of death is: Complications of Multiple Traumatic Injuries due to Motor Vehicle Collision. Marcus Pochettino, a Montgomery County husband and father of two, died suddenly in a car crash last Tuesday, Feb. 27, loved ones said in a GoFundMe. He was 38. A 13-year-old boy was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after he was hit while crossing the street on Tuesday, Feb. 20, according to Spring Township police. A tree has crushed a Chambersburg woman to death, according to a release by the Pennsylvania State Police on Sunday, Nov. 26. Tammy Smith, was found dead on a property located at 2821 Woodstock Road in Greene Township on Saturday, PSP Chambersburg troopers detailed in the release. The 42-year-old had been using a 2020 Kioti tractor while doing yard work on the property when a tree fell on her sometime between 3 and 4:52 p.m. when the troopers arrived. Authorities in Allentown have named the 85-year-old man who died in a hit-and-run on Union Boulevard on Thursday, Oct. 19. Elian N. A Montgomery County school district employee is accused of fatally hitting an 83-year-old man with his car before fleeing the scene. Nicholas M. Allentown Woman, 81, Burns To Death Lighting Candles: Coroner
An 81-year-old Allentown woman is dead after her clothes caught fire while lighting candles, authorities say. Dolores Fahrman was at home lighting candles just before 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11 when she accidentally lit her clothes, said Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio in a statement. Fahrman died after 46.5 percent of her body's surface area was burned, he added. The death has been ruled an accident, and remains under investigation by the Allentown Fire Department, the coroner said.
