School Bus Crash Sends 6 Autistic Children To Hospital: PA State Police
A bus carrying autistic children crashed in Central Pennsylvania on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 10, state police announced the following morning. Six children from a school for autistic children and one adult were taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center following the crash on Interstate 80 near mile marker 161 in Marion Township, troopers from PSP Rockview detailed in the release. Authorities ID Custodian Found Dead Day Before School Started In Lackawanna County
An 81-year-old man found dead at an elementary school in Lackawanna County has been identified, authorities said on Friday, Sept. 6. The body of Gary Porter, 81, of Dunmore, was discovered on Aug. 27 at Dunmore Elementary Center at 300 W. Warren St. in Dunmore, Lackawanna County Coroner Timothy Rowland told Daily Voice. A former 8th-grade math teacher at a South Philadelphia school has been charged with unlawful contact with a teenage girl, records show. Michael O'Brien, 48, taught 8th grade math at the Christopher Columbus Charter School starting in 2021, the school told Daily Voice. Power Outage Closes Elementary School In Allentown
Allentown's Ramos Elementary School is closed on Tuesday, May 28 due to a power outage, district officials say. Jackson Early Childhood Center is also closed for the day, administrators said. No other Allentown schools are affected by the outage. According to the PPL outage map, the issue was caused by a tripped breaker or blown fuse.
