Police: Northampton County Man, 19, Nabbed In Early Morning String Of Attempted Car Break-Ins

A Northampton County man is facing several charges after he was caught trying to break into cars in Bethlehem Monday morning, authorities said.

Elijah Whittingham, 19, was seen attempting to enter several cars parked along the 500 block of Seneca Street around 8 a.m., Bethlehem Police said.

Elijah Whittingham, 19, was seen attempting to enter several cars parked along the 500 block of Seneca Street around 8 a.m., Bethlehem Police said.

Whittingham was arrested after admitting to police that he had tried to enter vehicles in the area, authorities said.

Whittingham was charged with theft from a motor vehicle, disorderly conduct, purchase, consumption or transportation of liquor and possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.

Fountain Hill Police also assisted with the investigation.

“The City of Bethlehem Police would like to encourage citizens to remove valuables from their vehicles and to lock vehicle doors,” the department said.
