PA Man Accused Of Trying To Lure Child Into Truck, Police Seek Other Victims: DA

A Falls Township man is accused of trying to lure an 11-year-old boy into his vehicle, police announced on Friday, Jan. 17, 2025.

Gene Louis Martin, 54, of Nearwood Lane in Levittown, was charged with a felony count of luring a child into a vehicle or structure, according to Falls Township Police and the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office.

Martin allegedly pulled up next to the boy as he walked south on Pebble Lane at 3:50 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, and told him, “Hey kid. I live around here. Get in,” before motioning for the child to enter his white Chevy S-10 truck. The boy ran home and told his parents, who contacted police.

Investigators obtained surveillance footage showing the suspect’s truck, which led them to Martin’s home. Authorities said the truck, a white 2000 Chevy S-10 with Pennsylvania plates ZNZ 4315, was parked in Martin’s driveway and matched the victim’s description.

Martin was arraigned on Friday afternoon before Magisterial District Judge John T. Galloway and remanded to Bucks County Correctional Facility on $250,000 bail, 10 percent. He is prohibited from contacting the victim, minors, or schools as part of his bail conditions, court records show.

District Attorney Jen Schorn praised the boy’s courage, saying, “Despite just being 11 years old, he had the wherewithal to not engage with the man who was attempting to lure him into his vehicle and ran then made a prompt report. His detailed description allowed Falls Township police to act swiftly in locating and apprehending the defendant. We praise this child for his bravery.”

Authorities believe Martin may have committed or attempted similar crimes and are asking for the public’s help in identifying other possible victims.
