It happened on the 800 block of Jackson Street around 10:15 p.m., the department said.
A 32-year-old man received "survivable injuries" and was taken to an area hospital, according to authorities. Two handguns and "ballistic evidence" were recovered from the scene.
Police say there is "a lack of cooperation with individuals involved in the incident," but they believe the victim was specifically targeted. No suspect description was available as of Wednesday, Sept. 27.
