A 31-year-old Philadelphia police officer has died from injuries he sustained in a line-of-duty shooting more than 2 months ago, Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker announced on Tuesday, Sept. 10. Officer Jaime Roman had been in a coma at Temple University Hospital following a shooting on July 22, 2024. He passed away in the hospital just after 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 10, according to the Mayor. A 30-year-old woman was shot and killed overnight in Philadelphia. ALSO SEE: Cops ID woman killed Philadelphia Police responded for a person with a gun, on the 2300 block of East Hagert Street, in the 26th District, shortly after midnight on Wednesday, Sept. 11. : Philly Motorcyclist Killed In 3-Vehicle Collision, Police Say
A 34-year-old motorcyclist was killed Tuesday, Sept. 10 in a three-vehicle collision in Philadelphia, authorities said. The fatal crash occurred at approximately 3 p.m. on Woodhaven Road (Route 63) near Thornton Road, Philadelphia police said. The male rider, who was not identified, was traveling eastbound, and collided with both a vehicle and a box truck, also traveling eastbound, police said. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead by Medic 20 at 3:19 p.m., they said. Woodhaven Road was closed in both directions during an investigation.
