A 44-year-old Allentown mom "didn’t deserve to die the way she did," her daughter wrote in a GoFundMe on Friday, Sept. 6 following a murder-suicide. Livi E. Beltran Fernandez was found shot dead in a home in the 2000 block of East Cedar Street around 1:10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5, as explained by the Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio and previously reported by Daily Voice. Officials have identified the Pennsylvania man who drowned while tubing in on the Delaware River on Saturday, July 6. Gary M. Conley, 53, of Forks Township, was on a tube on the Delaware River when he went into the water and "did not return to the surface," said the Northampton County Coroner's Office. Crews Respond To Early Morning Fire In Easton
Firefighters were at the scene of a three-alarm blaze in Easton on Friday, July 5. Forks Township fire officials said they were called to Lehigh and South 11th streets around 2 a.m. Dewey Fire Company said they assisted with suppression, search, overhaul, and cleanup and were at the site until 5 a.m. WFMZ reports the blaze spread to multiple apartments and said that one person was taken to the hospital. Wanted Man Stole Firearm From Poconos Gun Range: Police
A man wanted by Easton police is now accused of stealing a handgun from a shooting range in Stroudsburg, according to authorities. Lawrence J. Handlovic, 34, walked into Pocono Pistol at 85 North 1st Street on July 4, said police. He rented a 9mm Glock handgun, used the indoor shooting range, then fled with the gun through an emergency exit, according to investigators. A gunman fired multiple rounds into a home in Easton on Monday afternoon, July 1, according to city police. The shooting happened on the 100 block of South 12th Street around 1:30 p.m., authorities said in a release.
