The family of a woman known to them as a "beacon of positivity" is celebrating her life following a fatal crash in Heidelberg Township. "We celebrate the beautiful life of a beloved, daughter and sister, Raquel Muneca Monique Perez, who passed away on Oct. 2," her family said in an obituary they shared with Daily Voice. Perez, 26, of Wilson Borough, died in a tragic crash when her vehicle struck a tree in the 5000 block of Route 309 in Heidelberg Township on Wednesday, Oct. 2. A Northampton County woman was killed after her vehicle crashed into a tree on Wednesday, Oct. 2, according to authorities. Raquel M. Perez, 26, of Wilson Borough, was driving in the 5000 block of Route 309 in Heidelberg Township when her vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree at 3:38 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio said. A 33-year-old woman was hospitalized after being shot in the back by a toddler on Monday, July 1, according to Wilson Borough police. The shot woman was taken to a hospital for emergency surgery and is expected to survive, investigators say. The shooting happened on the 2200 block of Forest Street, authorities said.
