Mugshot Released Of Murder Suspect In Shooting That Rattled NJ Town
The mugshot of a 34-year-old murder suspect arrested in a New Jersey shooting that rattled a small town has been released. Anthony Garvin, of Netcong, was charged with murder and possession of a firearm and lodged in the Berks County Jail in Leesport, PA, a spokesperson for the Warren County Prosecutor's Office said following the Thursday, June 28 incident. CASE: Philly Man Found Dead Off Turnpike In Lancaster County
State police investigators hope to shed new light on the 1991 murder of a West Philadelphia man. Derek Michael Mason was last seen leaving his South 39th Street home in October of that year, according to troopers. His remains were discovered off the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Clay Township, Lancaster County in January 1992. Nursing Student Killed By Temple Student In Philadelphia, Police Say
A 20-year-old Temple University student was killed in a Philadelphia apartment near campus over the weekend, according to officials. City police said they were called to the 1400 block of Willington Street around 4 a.m. Saturday, June 22. They arrived to find 20-year-old Milan Jones dead from "apparent blunt force trauma." Twenty-one-year-old Tymir Lackey, also a Temple student, is charged with murder and related offenses, PPD said. Investigators believe the killing was "domestic in nature." Police ID Pizza Delivery Driver Killed In Philadelphia
Authorities have named the 29-year-old deliveryman shot and killed in Philadelphia on Thursday, June 20. Danny Matthews of the 2400 block of Harlan Street was pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital, city police said. He was shot while sitting in the driver's seat of his car on the 2000 block of Ridge Avenue, according to investigators. Authorities said he was the victim of a robbery. No weapon was recovered from the scene and no arrests had been as of midday Friday, police said. The Homicide Detectives Division is investigating.

Pennsylvania State Police continue to investigate the murder of Caryn Fortino. Fortino, 38, was found dead in a wooded area off of Interstate 81 in Delano Township on May 23, 2003. She had been strangled, according to troopers. Authorities said Fortino was from the Philadelphia area and was last in contact with loved ones that February. An Atlantic City man was convicted of killing a Philadelphia man at an apartment complex, authorities said. A jury found 49-year-old Kenneth Creek guilty on Tuesday, June 11 of first-degree murder, second-degree unlawful possession of a handgun, and second-degree possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release. A man wearing gloves and a mask walked into a Chinese restaurant in Philadelphia's Kensington neighborhood and shot a 27-year-old dead, according to city police.
