Shippensburg High School Senior Jackson McManus Dies Unexpectedly, Community Mourns A Shippensburg High School senior has died unexpectedly, leaving his family, friends, and classmates heartbroken, loved ones said. Jackson Charles McManus, 18, of Shippensburg, passed away at home on Wednesday, Feb. 5, according to his obituary published by Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc. Born in Lancaster, Jackson was a senior at Shippensburg Area Senior High School. Motorcyclist ID'd Following Fatal Crash: PA State Police David "Davey" Newell Jr., 42, of Orrstown was pronounced dead at the scene of the single-vehicle crash on Sunday, Sept. 1, according to PSP.  The crash happened on Orrstown Road near Blind Lane in Southampton Township at 10:52 p.m., state police detailed in the release. Newell was riding "at a high rate of speed" around a curve when he left his lane, crossed into oncoming traffic, and struck the guide rail, the police said.  That's when Newell fell off of his bike and struck the guide rail post as his motorcycle rode off into a nearby field, police explained.   Davey was a Chambersburg n…
