The memorial plaque of a Philadelphia police officer who died in the line of duty is missing and an investigation is underway, according to authorities. An investigation is ongoing into the disappearance of the plaque memorializing Officer Charles Knox from its sidewalk location in the 2000 block of South Broad Street, the Philadelphia Police Department announced on Wednesday, Nov. 13. Teen Bicyclist Struck Dead, PA State Police Say
A 19-year-old bicyclist from Susquehanna was struck and killed at a stop sign, authorities said. Hannah E. Shaffer died at about 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 1 on East Main Street west of Spring Avenue in Susquehanna Depot, according to Pennsylvania State Police. The driver of the car, Todd M. Caward, 45, of Starlight was not injured or ticketed, police said. It appears that Shaffer drove through the stop sign before getting hit by the car, police said. A former Ironman Maryland All-Around winner and popular Pennsylvania high school teacher was killed in a bicycle crash in York County, friends and officials announced on Monday, July 29. East Allen Dad Killed In Crash Into Tree: Lehigh Coroner
A father of two died following a crash into a tree on Wednesday night, July 17, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio announced the following morning. Johny M. Roustic, 51, of East Allen Township, crashed on Pembroke Road near East Washington Avenue in Bethlehem around 8 p.m., city police detailed in a separate release.
