Man Arrested For Burglary After Attempted Break-In At Doylestown Home: Police
A 43-year-old man was arrested after attempting to force his way into a Doylestown residence, Plumstead Township Police announced on Monday, Nov. 25, 2024.
David Michael Shaw, 43, of Doylestown, allegedly tried to break into a home on Friday, Nov. 22, at approximately 4:43 p.m., according to police.
Shaw reportedly knocked and kicked on the front door multiple times, damaging the door frame and breaking a screen window in the process, police said. The incident occurred while the home was occupied, police noted.

3rd Arrest Made In Shooting Death Of Berks Teen: Report
A third person was arrested for the shooting death of a Berks County teen on Friday, Nov. 8, according to an affidavit.
Gavin Will, 17, of Reading, was charged for his role in the death of 19-year-old Christian Disla in the 1300 block of Muhlenberg Street on Monday, April 1, according to the affidavit.
Will; Brothers, Luis Santos-Cruz, 19, of Reading; and Jonielle Cruz, 17, of Doylestown, acted together to ambush an unnamed second victim who Disla happened to be getting into the same vehicle with, the affidavit states. The second victim was uninjured.

Fatal Overdose Lands PA State Prison Drug Dealer More Jail Time: DA
An already incarcerated 31-year-old man was sentenced to more prison time after pleading guilty to the overdose-related death of another inmate, the Buck County District Attorney's Office announced on Wednesday, Oct. 2.
Allen Rhoades, 31, of Doylestown, was sentenced to seven to 20 years in prison for providing the drugs that led to the death of Joshua Patterson, 22, of Philadelphia, while both men were serving time on Monday, Aug. 1, 2022, the DA's Office detailed in a release.

Black Bear Spotted In Doylestown Backyard: Officials
A black bear was seen in the backyard of a Doylestown home, police said Thursday, May 23.
Authorities said the bear was spotted near Ferry Road and Iron Hill Road.
"The Pennsylvania Game Commission has been notified and is formulating a game plan," township police said.
According to the PGC, black bears are the only species of bear to call Pennsylvania home. They are most active at dusk and dawn and will eat human food, garbage, bird feed, pet foods, fruits from trees or gardens, and livestock feed.
