23-Year-Old Pulls Knife On Employees At Long Island Business, Police Say A man is facing charges after allegedly pulling a knife on two employees at a Long Island business. The incident happened in Inwood, at the Smoke Bazaar smoke shop on Burnside Avenue, at around 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24. Nassau County Police said 23-year-old Cristhian Reyes got into an argument with two male employees, one 19 and the other 33. The argument escalated and Reyes displayed a knife, “placing them in fear for their safety,” police said. He is also accused of intentionally breaking two of the store's security cameras. Long Island Man Broke Into Jersey Shore Home's Garage, Cut Security Camera Wires: Police A Long Island man was accused of breaking into a Manasquan home and cutting outdoor security camera wires, authorities said. Thomas Gilmartin of Port Washington, New York, was arrested on Monday, Aug. 5, the Manasquan Borough Police Department said in a news release. Officers responded to a report of someone who broke into the garage of a home on Perrine Boulevard at around 8:02 p.m. Police said the home's back door was kicked in and exterior security camera wires were cut. Smile, You're On Body Camera: TJ Maxx To Equip Employees To Fight Shoplifting To fight the recent rise in shoplifting and retail theft, shoppers could see store security employees wearing body-worn cameras to help catch thieves red-handed.  TJX, the parent company of TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Serria, HomeSense, and HomeGoods, said will begin equipping some employees with body-worn cameras similar to those worn by police, the Boston Globe reported.
