Gilgo Beach Murders: New Images Of 'Asian Doe' Released In Effort To ID Male Victim
Investigators are hoping newly released images will lead to the identification of another victim in the Gilgo Beach serial murders. On Long Island, the Gilgo Beach Task Force distributed facial reconstructions of who they've long referred to as "Asian Doe" during a press conference in Brentwood on Monday morning, Sept. 16. Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney said the man’s skeletal remains were found along Ocean Parkway in Gilgo Beach on April 4, 2011, though it’s believed he “suffered a violent death” sometime before 2006. Fallen Detective From Hudson Valley Was About To Be A Grandfather
Richard Cunningham was a decorated police officer, but he's being remembered for his work outside of uniform following his sudden death last week. Northern Westchester resident Cunningham, age 60, of Peekskill, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Aug. 31. He had been serving as a detective with the Greenburgh Police Department. He left behind a wife and three adult children. His obituary said that at the time of his death, Cunningham was about to become a grandfather. Police have not disclosed the cause of his death. Detective Dies Suddenly At 54
A popular and accomplished Hudson Valley councilman died after suffering a heart attack at age 54. Rockland County Councilman Mark Woods, of Clarkstown, died on Friday, May 17, from an apparent heart attack, town officials said. Woods, a member of the Clarkstown Board and director of peer veteran services at the nonprofit BRIDGES was elected to represent Ward 1 in November 2023.
