Wendy's Opening New Restaurant In Capital Region Wendy’s is gearing up to open a new restaurant in the region. The Ohio-based fast-food chain has its sights set on Greene County, where it will debut a new location in the village of Catskill, according to Village of Catskill Planning Board records. Plans call for the new restaurant to take over the former Pizza Hut building, located at 75 Maple Avenue. It was not immediately clear when the new Catskill location will open. The Greene County incident happened at around 11 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, on State Route 9W in Catskill. New York State Police said Thomas Konow, age 61, of Claverack in Columbia County, was driving a GMC SUV southbound on SR 9W when the vehicle left the roadway, struck the wall of a railroad overpass, and caught fire.
