Death Of 7-Month-Old Under Investigation In Riverhead
An investigation is under way after a 7-month-old died on Long Island. Officers responded to a 911 call reporting that the baby at a Riverhead residence, on 3rd Street, was unconscious and not breathing. CPR was performed, but the infant was pronounced dead at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. Riverhead Town PD detectives and the Suffolk County Medical Examiner's Office are investigating the circumstances that led to the child's death. 73-Year-Old ID'd As Drowning Victim In Sagaponack
Authorities have identified a drowning victim on Long Island. The Southampton Town Police Department said it received an abandoned 911 call from the vicinity of Gibson Lane in Sagaponack at about 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4. Dispatchers were able to re-contact the caller who reported a man was missing in the water after going swimming at Gibson Beach. Police are investigating the death of a man who was pulled unresponsive from water on Long Island. A Suffolk County Park Ranger was patrolling on Outer Beach in Smith Point County Park when he was notified that a man was in distress in the water at noontime Sunday, Aug. 11. A toddler was found unresponsive in a swimming pool at a Long Island home. The incident happened around 7:15 p.m. Sunday, July 7, in Deer Park. A 54-year-old man died after being pulled from the water at a Long Island beach. Emergency crews in Southampton were called shortly before 3 p.m. Monday, June 24, for a drowning victim at Altenkirch County Park, located in the hamlet of Hampton Bays near Dune Road and Road H. Another beachgoer removed the man from the water and performed CPR, but he was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Southampton Town Police identified the man as Peter Dzakonski, of Hampton Bays. A second man at the beach was also hospitalized after reporting chest pain and difficulty breathing.
