Hit-Run Biker Who Left NY 18-Year-Old In Coma Nabbed Nearly Month Later, Police Say Nearly a month after a University at Albany student from Long Island was severely injured in a hit-and-run dirt bike crash, a suspect is behind bars. Albany Police arrested Austin Breyette, age 25, of Watervliet, early Thursday morning, May 23, in connection with the collision that left 18-year-old UAlbany freshman Alexa Kropf in a medically induced coma. Kropf, a Long Island native from Floral Park, was struck by a dirt bike rider just blocks from the UAlbany campus at around midnight Saturday, April 27. It happened around 8:35 p.m. Saturday, May 25, in Medford. A man was crossing County Road 101 at the intersection of Southaven Avenue, when he was struck by a vehicle in the northbound lanes, according to Suffolk County Police.  The vehicle continued northbound without stopping. Fatal Hit-Run Long Island Crash: 21-Year-Old Woman ID'd As Victim A 21-year-old woman was killed by a hit-and-run driver on Long Island. The incident happened at around 3:20 a.m. Monday, May 20, in Ronkonkoma near the intersection of Ronkonkoma Avenue and Third Street. Suffolk County Police said Elyse Crivaro, of Holbrook, was walking across Ronkonkoma Avenue when she was struck by a southbound car. The vehicle, described as a dark colored sedan, fled the scene.
