Woman Seriously Injured After Strike In Bay Shore: Police A 78-year-old woman was hospitalized with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Bay Shore, Suffolk County police announced on Tuesday, Jan. 7. Marie Lanfrit, of Bay Shore, was crossing Spur Drive North when a 2005 Ford, driven by 65-year-old Ken Anthony of Central Islip, hit her at 5:45 p.m., authorities said. The crash happened as Anthony attempted to turn left onto the eastbound lanes of Spur Drive North from Fifth Avenue, according to police. Teenage Bicyclist Seriously Injured In Suffolk County Crash: Police A teenage bicyclist was seriously injured in a motor vehicle crash in Brightwaters, Suffolk County police announced on Saturday, Dec. 7. The 14-year-old was riding westbound on Howells Road near Manatuck Boulevard when he attempted to cross the street and was struck by a westbound 2011 Honda CRV at 10:25 a.m., according to police. The vehicle, driven by 36-year-old Nube Cajamarca of Bay Shore, remained on the scene. Cajamarca was not injured, police said. 1 Killed During Crash At North Bay Shore Intersection During Height Of Evening Commute A person was killed after being struck by a compact SUV during the height of the evening commute at a busy Long Island intersection.It happened just before 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, in North Bay Shore. A 76-year-old North Bay Shore man was driving a 2015 Honda CRV westbound on Pine Aire Drive at the intersection of 5th Avenue. The victim, who police have not yet identified, was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the CRV was not injured.
