27-Year-Old Accused Of Promoting Prostitution, Sex Trafficking On Long Island
A man has been accused of sex trafficking and promoting prostitution on Long Island. Queens resident Wilson Rodriguez Peralta, 27, of Maspeth, was arrested without incident on Friday night, Oct. 4 in Hicksville, following a Nassau County Police investigation. Peralta has been charged with: Sex trafficking, Criminal possession of a controlled substance, Promoting prostitution. Son, Daughter's Abuse Led To Death Of Long Island Woman, Police Say
A brother and sister from Long Island are accused of abusing their elderly mother to the point the woman died. Nassau County Police were called to a Roosevelt home at around 2:40 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, to perform a welfare check. Inside, officers found 85-year-old Carmel McDougall unresponsive. She was taken to a hospital and died days later, on Wednesday, Sept. 18. An investigation found that McDougall’s 65-year-old son, Michael McDougall, was responsible for the injuries that caused her death, police said. Long Islanders will soon have one less option when it comes to buying groceries. Supermarket chain King Kullen is set to close its Levittown store after 30 years in business, an employee confirmed to Daily Voice. The store will close for good at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3. Police are asking for help in identifying a man suspected in a broad-daylight assault and robbery at a Long Island pub. The incident happened in Bethpage, at the Susan’s Pub located on Railroad Avenue, at around 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18. Security was heightened at a Long Island elementary school after authorities discovered a threatening social media post.
