Suspect Vehicle ID'd After 24-Year-Old Woman Killed In Hit-Run Lake Grove Crash
A major break in the case of a hit-and-run crash that killed a 24-year-old woman on Long Island was announced by authorities. Detectives believe it was a 2006 or 2007 dark gray Honda Accord that struck Sampada Aduulla on Nesconset Highway in Lake Grove early Saturday Feb. 1, Suffolk County Police said. Aduulla, of Lake Grove, was struck by an eastbound vehicle while crossing Nesconset Highway near Hallock Road at around 6:20 a.m., according to police. A 24-year-old woman killed in a hit-and-run crash while crossing Nesconset Highway in Lake Grove has been identified, Suffolk County Police announced on Sunday, Feb. 2. Sampada Aduulla, of Lake Grove, was struck by an eastbound vehicle near Hallock Road at 6:20 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, police said. The driver fled the scene. Aduulla was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the police. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Major Case Unit at 631-852-6555 or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.

Nearly a month after a teenager was stabbed during a fight at a Long Island mall, a suspect is behind bars.
