A 36-year-old motorcyclist is fighting for his life after colliding with a US Postal Service van on Long Island. The crash happened around 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, in Oceanside, according to Nassau County Police. A preliminary investigation found that a man was riding a Suzuki motorcycle west on Atlantic Avenue near Court Street when he was struck by a postal van. Three Injured In Fiery Head-On Crash On Nassau Expressway In Inwood: Police
A head-on crash sparked a car fire and sent three people to the hospital early Sunday morning in Inwood, according to Nassau County Police. The collision happened between a 2012 Sprinter van and a 2016 Honda sedan at Nassau Expressway and Burnside Avenue at 4:18 a.m. on Sunday, July 27, police said in a release from the Fourth Squad. The Sprinter van was heading north on the expressway with one person inside, detectives explained. Woman Killed Crossing Street After Being Hit By Ford Van: Nassau County Police
A 69-year-old woman was killed after being struck by a Ford van while crossing a street in Glen Cove, Nassau County police announced. The fatal crash happened on Friday, Feb. 7, 2025, at 2:07 p.m. on Pratt Boulevard near Pulaski Street, detectives said. The woman was attempting to cross the road when a 2019 Ford van, traveling southwest, hit her, investigators explained. She suffered severe trauma and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead by a hospital physician. The 68-year-old driver of the van remained at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

Someone Set Van On Fire Outside Nassau County Home, Police Seeking Tips
Police are investigating after someone set a van on fire outside a Long Island home. The incident happened in North Valley Stream at a residence on Franklin Avenue shortly before 4 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17. Nassau County Police said someone poured a flammable liquid on a Ford Econoline van that was parked in a driveway and set the vehicle on fire.
