Northern Lights Dazzle NY Residents Residents across the Northeast were dazzled by the Northern Lights, visible Thursday evening, Oct. 10. The purple and pink lights were visible due to a Solar Storm, or a Coronal Mass Ejection from the sun on Tuesday, Oct. 8 which arrived in the area Thursday. "I got a text from a friend about 30 minutes ago," said Joe Jenkins, of Poughkeepsie, NY, "so I ran out and looked due north. You couldn’t miss it." Assailant Flees Scene After Woman Stabbed In Hudson Valley A Hudson Valley woman was stabbed during a fight between two groups of people on a city street.  The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 10 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 9, on Montgomery Street in the city of Poughkeepsie. According to Det. Lt. Sean McCarthy of the city of Poughkeepsie Police, Donyae Paris Andrews, age 24, of Poughkeepsie, received non-life-threatening injuries to her arm during the attack.
