Motorcyclist, 22, Dies After Dump Trailer Crash In Ulster County A 22-year-old Dutchess County man died after his motorcycle struck the rear of a trailer on Route 299 in Ulster County, police said. The crash happened in the town of Lloyd on Monday, June 1, at around 9:30 p.m., New York State Police announced on Tuesday morning, June 2. Troopers first responded to a report of a motorcycle accident on Route 299 and found that a 2002 Suzuki motorcycle was traveling eastbound when it hit the rear of a dump-style trailer that was traveling in the same direction.  Police said the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed before the collision. …

Pedestrian Struck, Killed Crossing Street In Region A pedestrian was struck and killed while crossing a Capital Region street. The incident happened in Colonie, on Loudon Road north of Troy-Schenectady Road, at around 5 a.m. Monday, April 7. Arriving officers reported finding a car that struck a pedestrian, Colonie Police said. Bystanders attempted life-saving measures, but the victim, Felipa Martinez-Garcia, 49, of Latham, was pronounced dead at the scene. Ulster County Woman Dies In Wawarsing Single-Vehicle Crash A 56-year-old Hudson Valley woman lost her life in a single-vehicle crash due to adverse road conditions, according to New York State Police. Ulster County resident Tammy Hyatt of Ellenville died around 11 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 18, on Otens Road in Wawarsing. Trooper Jennifer Alvarez said preliminary investigations revealed that a 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Hyatt was traveling eastbound when it veered off the roadway and struck a tree. 22-Year-Old Killed In Hudson Valley Crash A 22-year-old man was killed and a woman injured followed a crash in the region. The collision occurred in Orange County around 10:50 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 16, in Warwick near Pulaski Highway, according to Warwick Police Chief John Rader. The first officers to arrive at the scene began life-saving measures on the man from the village of Florida, Rader said. He was transported to St. Anthony's Hospital in Warwick, where he later died from his injuries. Hudson Valley 19-Year-Old Drowns In Home Pool A 19-year-old Hudson Valley man died after being found unresponsisve in a home pool. The incident occurred in Orange County around 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 15 on Meadow Streeet in the town of Newburgh.
