Large Brush Fire Erupts In Hudson Valley Near Country Club Several fire and police departments are battling a large brush fire near a country club in the Hudson Valley.  The fire began in Putnam County on Thursday, Oct. 24 around 11:30 a.m. in the area of Golf Ridge Road and China Circle Court near the Sedgewood Club golf course in the town of Kent, the Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services announced around 12:45 p.m.  Several departments are now operating at the scene of the fire. Double-Fatal Crash: Hudson Valley Men In 20s ID'd As Victims After Vehicle Hits Deer Two men from the region were killed when the vehicle they were riding struck a deer and then a tree, ejecting both. The incident occurred in Sullivan County at 6:45 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, in the area of 196 Rio Dam Road in Lumberland. According to Sullivan County Sheriff's Office Undersheriff Eric Chaboty, an investigation revealed that two men were riding a single four-wheel ATV westbound on Rio Dam Road when they struck a deer in the roadway.  Chaboty said this caused the quad to leave the pavement and strike a tree. Person Extricated After 2-Vehicle Crash In Region A man was seriously injured following a two-vehicle crash in the Hudson Valley. The collision occurred in Sullivan County on Route 17 at 7:40 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 9, in the town of Liberty. According to Trooper Jennifer Alvarez of the New York State Police, a 2011 Cadillac traveling northwest near the ramp at Exit 110A pulled in front of a 1995 Ford on Route 55, causing the front of the Ford to hit the driver's side of the Cadillac. The crash happened in Putnam County on Sunday, Oct. 6, when an all-terrain vehicle crashed down a cliff in Cold Spring at the gorge on Mill Road, according to the North Highlands Fire Department. Person Jumps From Bridge In Hudson Valley Dive teams, fire departments, and EMS personnel are searching for a person who jumped from a bridge in the region. The incident occurred in Dutchess County at the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge in Beacon around 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17. Driver Flown to Hospital After Truck Rolls Over On I-84 In Hudson Valley An interstate in the Hudson Valley was temporarily closed after a truck overturned, injuring the driver.  The crash happened in Putnam County on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 10, when a truck crashed on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 84 just east of Route 312 in Brewster, according to the Brewster Fire Department.  As a result of the crash, the driver became trapped inside the truck's twisted structure. Fatal Crash: 22-Year-Old ID'd As Victim In Region A 22-year-old was killed in a two-vehicle crash in the region. It happened around 2:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, in Schoharie County in the town of Seward. An electric bicycle being operated by Mackenzie T. Car Crashes Over Guardrail, Causing Closure Of Hudson Valley Road A busy Hudson Valley road was closed for around an hour after a vehicle crashed over the guardrail into the woods. The crash happened in Putnam County on Sunday, Aug. 18 around 3:30 p.m., when a car crashed over a guardrail on Route 32 (Crane Road) in the area of Angela Drive in the town of Carmel, according to the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department.  No injuries were reported and both the driver and passenger refused ambulance trips.  Route 32 was closed for about an hour as the vehicle was towed away.
