Snapchat Meetup At NY Library Ends With Teen Raped Behind Fire Department: Indictment A man lured a 16-year-old girl from a public library by Snapchat before allegedly raping her behind a Long Island fire department, prosecutors announced on Wednesday, Aug. 27. Delon Hughes, 34, of Brooklyn, met the teen at the Brentwood Public Library on June 11, 2025, after using the handle “Josephpatri9300” on Snapchat to connect with her, Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney said. The two then walked to the Brentwood Fire Department, where Hughes sexually abused her among parked cars, according to investigators. Hughes was arrested in Queens on Aug. 7. Student, 14, Threatens Shooting At High School In Region, Police Say A 14-year-old boy is accused of threatening to kill a classmate at a Capital Region school. Schenectady School District officials contacted police after learning that a student at Washington Irving School had threatened a 14-year-old classmate via Snapchat late Saturday night, Feb. 22, Schenectady Police said. Officers identified the suspect and determined that he threatened to bring a gun to school and kill one of his classmates following a dispute earlier in the week, police said. Man From Region, 2 Juveniles Nabbed For Hate Crimes, Police Say A 19-year-old Hudson Valley man and two juveniles were nabbed for allegedly shooting gel pellets and shouting anti-Semitic remarks at two women. The incident occurred in Rockland County at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, on Lawler Boulevard in Spring Valley. According to Spring Valley Police Det. Sgt. Rony Charles, the two women were walking on Lawler Boulevard when a vehicle drove by and shot an unknown type of projectile at them, striking one.  Charles said the women were not injured but told police the people in the vehicle were shouting anti-Semitic remarks before speeding away. …

Hudson Valley Man Charged With Hate Crime At Synagogue A Hudson Valley man has been charged with a hate crime after allegedly posting an anti-semitic banner at a synagogue. Ulster County resident Caleb H. Rochester, age 55, of Kingston, was arrested on Thursday, May 16, for the Monday, March 25 incident at Temple Emanuel Synagogue in Kingston.  According to Capt. Joseph Sciutto of the Ulster County Sheriff's Office, congregants discovered a banner with anti-semitic language and artwork adhered to the exterior of the synagogue.  Sciutto said the adhesive product used had also caused damage to the exterior…
