Philip “Philly” J. Hoeffner, a past chief and 52-year member of the Montgomery Fire Department, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, Jan. 13, surrounded by loved ones, following a five-year battle with leukemia, according to his obituary. He was 71 years old.
Hoeffner was a lifetime resident of Montgomery and a graduate of Valley Central High School, Class of 1972, his obituary said.
