NJ Teen Mom Left Baby In Getaway Car During Botched NY Vehicle Theft, Police Say A New Jersey woman and a teenage boy were caught attempting to steal a running vehicle in Hewlett while an infant sat in their getaway car, police said. Officers responded to a home on Seawane Road around 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19, after a resident saw an unknown male inside his running vehicle, Nassau County police said. When confronted, the suspect fled in a white Hyundai driven by an unknown female. John F. Rivers, age 43, of East Greenbush, was charged on Friday, Dec. 6, for using his towing company, Rivers Asset Recovery, to steal and sell vehicles towed from parking lots across the Capital Region, said New York Attorney General Letitia James. Woman From Region Nabbed Twice In 24 Hours For Stealing Vehicles, Police Say A woman from the region who was released on an appearance ticket after allegedly stealing a vehicle was arrested again 24 hours later after stealing another car. The incident occurred in Sullivan County on Sunday, Oct. 27, in Monticello.
