A firefighter was hospitalized after battling a blaze that severely damaged a home in Old Bethpage, authorities said. The fire broke out around 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 26, at a residence on Round Swamp Road, according to the Nassau County Police Department. A firefighter suffered a head injury and four people were hospitalized for smoke inhalation after a house fire in Lakeview, Nassau County police said. Long Island Resident Killed After House Fire Breaks Out
A resident was killed in a Long Island house fire. The blaze broke out just before 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27 in Bay Shore. Artemio Gonzalez, age 77, had been removed from the house by a family member, a good Samaritan and a Suffolk County PD Third Precinct officer. Gonzalez was transported to South Shore Hospital in Bay Shore where he was pronounced dead, police said.
