Patrick Mwesigwa Remembered As 'Beacon Of Warmth, Joy' Support is swelling for the family of a beloved father and chef who was struck and killed by a car on Long Island. The incident happened in Inwood, near the intersection of Sheridan Avenue and Nassau Avenue, shortly after 11 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28. Nassau County Police said 44-year-old Patrick Mwesigwa was struck by a Ford Explorer heading southbound on Sheridan Avenue. He suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
