Graduate programs across the Northeast are being recognized among the best in the nation, according to a new report.
U.S. News & World Report released its 2026 Best Graduate Schools rankings on Tuesday, April 7. The list evaluates programs in several fields, including business, law, medicine, engineering, education, and nursing.
The media outlet said it compared grad programs based on factors like research performance and career outcomes.

A young EMT and aspiring nurse is being remembered as a devoted son, brother, and friend after his life was cut short in a motorcycle crash on Long Island.
Aiden LoMele, 18, of Whitestone, Queens, was fatally injured in a collision at a busy Riverhead intersection on Tuesday, Sept. 9, as Daily Voice reported.
The crash happened around 2:20 p.m. on Center Drive, just south of West Main Street, according to Riverhead Town Police. LoMele was riding a 2022 Honda motorcycle when he stopped in front of a tractor-trailer at a red light.

It’s A Boy! Stony Brook University Hospital Welcomes First Baby Of 2025
Samantha and Matthew Bruckenthal of East Northport welcomed their first child, Charlie, just hours into the new year at Stony Brook University Hospital, the hospital announced on Monday, Jan. 1.
Charlie, weighing 6 pounds, 4 ounces, was born at 3:16 a.m. and is the first baby of 2025 for the hospital. His delivery was assisted by Leah Kaufman, MD, Eliza Hammes, RN, and Vanessa Boser, RN, according to the release.
The newborn is already making waves in his family as the grandson of Patricia Bruckenthal, the Dean of the School of Nursing at Stony Brook University.
