Patrick Mwesigwa Remembered As 'Beacon Of Warmth, Joy' Support is swelling for the family of a beloved father and chef who was struck and killed by a car on Long Island. The incident happened in Inwood, near the intersection of Sheridan Avenue and Nassau Avenue, shortly after 11 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28. ID Released For 44-Year-Old Struck, Killed By SUV In Nassau County The identity has been released of a man who was killed after being struck by an SUV on Long Island. The crash happened around 11:10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, in Inwood. The man was struck by a 2004 Ford Explorer traveling southbound on Sheridan Boulevard in the vicinity of Nassau Avenue.  He's now been identified as Queens resident Patrick Sean Mwesigwa, age 44, of Far Rockaway. A 35-year-old man who was driving the Explorer remained at the scene. The pedestrian suffered severe trauma and was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead by a hospital physician.  …
