Police In NY To Crack Down On Impaired, Reckless Driving Until Halloween If you will be driving during this year's spooky season celebrations, be safe — police in New York will be increasing efforts to catch impaired and reckless drivers through Halloween.  The crackdown was announced on Friday, Oct. 25 by Gov. Man Who Traveled Across NY To Kill Ex-Wife's Partner Apprehended, Police Say A man was apprehended in the region after authorities say he traveled hundreds of miles across New York to murder his ex-wife's partner. State Police troopers responded to a Columbia County 911 broadcast about the suspect on Tuesday, Sept. 17. The suspect, Andrew J. Case, age 41, of West Seneca, in Erie County, was located and arrested on Route 9 in the Columbia County town of Greenport, according to police. Police To Target Speeding, Aggressive Drivers During NY Enforcement Crackdown Speeding drivers, watch out — police in New York are set to crack down on aggressive motorists during a weeklong enforcement crackdown.  The "Speed Week" enforcement initiative, which will begin on Monday, June 3, and continue through Sunday, June 9, will target speeding and aggressive drivers throughout New York, Gov.
