Police In NY To Crack Down On Impaired, Reckless Driving Until Halloween If you will be driving during this year's spooky season celebrations, be safe — police in New York will be increasing efforts to catch impaired and reckless drivers through Halloween.  The crackdown was announced on Friday, Oct. 25 by Gov. Kathy Hochul, who said State Police and local law enforcement will be increasing patrols through Thursday, Oct. 31 to target drunk, drug-impaired, and reckless motorists.  During the initiative, sobriety checkpoints and DWI patrols will be implemented.
