New York State Police are asking the public's help in their investigation of a cold-case murder mystery of a family of four at their suburban upstate New York home. Authorities in the Hudson Valley are monitoring bomb threats sent over email targeting synagogues across New York as Rosh Hashanah comes to a close. Authorities are warning the public of a nationwide automated scam in which scammers use people’s email addresses to coerce payments by intimidating them with threats of embarrassment.
